Unbelievably, my beautiful and historic hometown of Lahaina, Maui was reduced to ash on August 8, 2023. Many of my friends and their families have lost everything. I am grieving the loss of life, history, livelihoods and my childhood in Lahaina town from afar, and have set up recurring donations to the Lahaina Restoration Foundation and Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong fund. There are also GoFundMe accounts for individuals, families and businesses to get a head start on rebuilding their lives. Below are a list of some of the families and businesses I know personally who could use a hand.
